With Jesus in the morning
You allowed me once again to wake up this morning, keeping the breath of life in me. Thank you, Lord! What will I do today to participate in your work of creation? I already allow these words of Pope Francis to resonate in my heart: “Let us feel involved and responsible by having at heart, through prayer and commitment, the safeguarding of creation, without waiting for it to be too late” (September 1, 2019). “Come, let us return to the Lord” proclaims the prophet Hosea (Hos 6:1-6). Lord, if I have veered in a wrong direction since this morning, I want to find the right path so that you give me back the life that I am not always able to receive. There is a fight in pursuit of the awareness that life is a gift to be safeguarded. For the rest of the day, Lord, be with me and guide my steps for a concrete commitment in defense of life. With Jesus in the night
Lord, like the tax collector in today’s Gospel, perhaps I was proud in considering myself superior to others. This evening I come to throw myself at your feet beating my chest: “My God, show yourself favorable to the sinner that I am! (Lk 18:13). I know that your love is infinite and that you prefer love to sacrifice. I count on your grace to help me to work more for your Kingdom. Before closing my eyes, I review my day and I think back to the intention of this month: the defense of life in the face of the new bioethical challenges. What have I done to advance this intention? Tomorrow’s day will be better with your grace. Hail Mary…
