We pray for Christians facing new bioethical challenges; may they continue to defend the dignity of all human life with prayer and action.

豊かな命の源である良き父よ、
私たちは、あなたからいただく命の贈り物の管理人として
あなたが私たちを呼んでいることを知っています。
始まりから終わりまですべての人のいのちを
私たちの関心の中心に置くために、
あなたの聖霊が私たちに勇気と力を与えてくださいますように。
私たちの兄弟であり友人であるあなたの御子イエスが
この贈り物を守ったように、
私たちは生命倫理の課題に直面したとき、それを、
どんな時も、どんな状況でも、守ることを知っています。
私たちに、命を奪うものを糾弾し
そして、他者に命を与える慈愛に満ちた愛を実践する
勇気と識別を与えてください。

あなたの御手に委ねます。
聖母マリアとともに、教会のミッションと、教皇の今月の意向に合わせて、

🌸 今月の日常生活での心がけ
- 命の尊厳を守る
「相対主義の文化は、他人を利用し、単なる物として扱い、労働を強要したり、借金のために奴隷にしたりするように人を駆り立てるのと同じ病理のものです」（教皇フランシスコ）。私は兄弟姉妹に対して、人を操るような態度や言葉や身体的な攻撃性を認めることができるでしょうか。今月は、私の人間関係において、そのような扱いを受けないように気をつけたいと思います。 - 識別する
「人間は自分を中心に置くと、自分にとって都合のよいことや境遇を絶対的に優先することになり、周囲のものはすべて相対的なものとなってしまいます」（教皇フランシスコ）。私は時間をかけて現在の生命倫理の課題を知り、私を動かし、私の決断の中心に置かれる教会に照らして、それを見極めていきます。私は自分の利己的な動機を浄化します。 - 境界を設定する
「視線を広げ続けることは可能です。人間の自由は、テクノロジーを制限し、導き、より健康的で、より人間的、より社会的、より包括的な別のタイプの進歩に奉仕させることができます」（教皇フランシスコ）。今月、私が控えることができ、兄弟姉妹のためにそれを置くことができるものはありますか？これは、他者への奉仕を優先して設定された境界線です。 - ニーズに応える

「生きたヒト胚の実験では、あらゆる限界を超えることがしばしば正当化されます。人間のかけがえのない価値は、その発達の程度を超えていることが忘れられているのです」（教皇フランシスコ）。私は今月、出会った人々に対して、個人的な事情にかかわらず、日常の小さな仕草でもいいから、気遣いと愛情を示すことにしています。

Pope’s Prayer Intention – For a Christian response to bioethical challenges
We pray for Christians facing new bioethical challenges; may they continue to defend the dignity of all human life with prayer and action.
Prayer
Good Father, source of Life in abundance,
we know that you call us to be custodians
of the gift of life that we receive from You.
May your Holy Spirit give us courage and strength
to put in the center of our interests
the life of every human being from beginning to end.
That faced with the challenges of bioethics we know to
protect this gift in all times and circumstances,
as your Son Jesus, our brother and friend, defended it.
Give us courage and discernment to denounce what takes life away,
and practice compassionate love to give life to others.
Amen.
Offering Prayer
Good Father, I know You are with me.
Here I am on this new day.
Place my heart once more
next to the Heart of your Son Jesus,
who is giving himself for me and who comes to me in the Eucharist.
May your Holy Spirit make me Your friend and apostle,
available for your mission of compassion.
I place in Your hands my joys and hopes,
my works and sufferings, everything that I am and have,
in communion with my brothers and sisters of this Worldwide Prayer Network.
With Mary, I offer you my day for the mission of the Church
and for the prayer intentions of the Pope and my Bishop for this month.

Proposals for the month
- Defense of Life
“The culture of relativism is of the same pathology that pushes a person to take advantage of others and to treat them as mere objects, forcing them to work or making them into a slave because of a debt” (Pope Francis). Can I recognize manipulative attitudes or verbal and physical aggression with my brothers and sisters? This month I will take care to watch out for such treatment in my relationships. - Discern
“When humans place themselves at the center, it ends up giving absolute priority to what is convenient for them and their circumstances, and everything else around them becomes relative (Pope Francis). I will take time to inform myself about current bioethical challenges and discern them in light of the Church who moves me to act and whom I place at the center of my decisions. I will purify my selfish motivations. - Set Boundaries
“It is possible to keep broadening one’s gaze. Human freedom is capable of limiting technology, guiding it and placing it at the service of another type of progress that is healthier, more human, more social, more comprehensive” (Pope Francis). Is there something I could abstain from this month and put it in favor of my brothers and sisters? This is a boundary set in favor of service to others. - Attend to Needs
“Not only the poor, but a large part of society suffers from serious difficulties in accessing their own home. Owning a home has a lot to do with the dignity of people and with the development of families” (Pope Francis Laudato si nº152). I will help with goods and material care to vulnerable people, giving special attention to migrants and refugees. - Protect
“It is often justified to transgress all limits when experimenting with live human embryos. It is forgotten that the inalienable value of a human being goes beyond the degree of their development” (Pope Francis). I will show care and affection, even in small daily gestures, for the people I meet this month, regardless of their personal circumstances.
